184 Bermondsey Street London
Zucca is a modern Italian on Bermondsey Street. We first went on a Saturday and had a wonderful lunch. Having booked to go back during the week, we thought it would never live up to our memory of the deliciously delicate spider crab pasta and a beautifully cooked lamb rump steak with smoked ricotta and fregola. But it did! And is now our new favourite, along with all our other favourites, for being not only carefully prepared, light, and fresh, but also consistent. Charming service, that isn’t too much of anything, and an excellent (female) sommelier. It’s a plain room that isn’t as charming as some, but the kitchen more than makes up for it. We’re aiming to go once a season, and will let you know what summer brings.
