I first came across this quote following the suicide of Caroline Flack. Now perhaps more than ever, mental health is talked about and with lockdown and the effects of Covid-19, more and more people are struggling with their feelings.
We never know what is going on behind the scenes for the people we are interacting with, whether they are fellow supermarket shoppers, colleagues or friends – we often hold close our inner most feelings and the struggles we may be going through. We don’t always get our interactions with others right (I own up to not being my best self in talking to TFL) but if we aim to be kind in as many interactions as possible, we will be doing well.
Are you kind? Do you strive to be kind? Is there anyone you have been unkind to that did not deserve it? If so, it may be time to own it and apologise. But I urge you to start each day with the mantra, if I can be anything today, I am going to be kind.
