How to avoid getting upset in a conversation - TXG

If you ever find yourself getting upset in a conversation (that may manifest as anything from shouting to feeling angry tears)…

  1. Step back
  2. Take a deep breath and breathe in for 3 counts, hold that breath for 3 counts and then exhale over 3 counts
  3. Then think – what is that I want from this conversation? Focus on the goal and whether it is achievable.
